Village DiaryShutford Table Tennis ClubTable tennis on Tuesdays in the village hall - fun and coaching for all abilities. Juniors 6.00 - 7.30pm and Adults 7.30 - 9.00pm.
Since it was relaunched last summer, the village’s table tennis club now regularly has more than 14 active members. The success is undoubtedly down to the hard work of two local coaches, Eric Barlow and Nick Walker, who have enthusiastically supported the club since October 2021. The evenings have followed a structured, fun-filled format with tailored coaching. Improvements in everyone’s game are now clearly visible! Our success has meant that we can now offer a new weekly junior club starting on Tuesday 1 February. The weekly Junior sessions will follow the same structured format and include coaching for players up to the age of 16. All abilities are welcome, including beginners, to both adult and junior sessions. All equipment is provided - all you need is a good pair of trainers and the willingness to give it a go. We now have three tables. If you'd like to join in, please contact John on: jfbailey001@gmail.com We will be offering free sessions to Juniors for year. Afterwards, membership will be charged at only £1 per week (payable upfront). All change for the Shutford Book ClubWe've decided that as we can't expand the group (and we hate saying 'no'), we are going to change our format to the Shutford Book Review. We will instead provide reports on the books we read each month to inspire anyone looking for a good read. Keep an eye out for the books we will read each month and our summaries will appear in the each edition of Shutford News.
