The group meets every Monday during term times between 12.30pm to 2.30pm in the Village Hall.  The aims of the group are simple and can be summarised as follows:

  • to offer a wide range of toys, puzzles, books, playmats, etc to both young babies and toddlers, whilst giving children the opportunity to interact and form new friendships.
  • to be supportive to Mummies, Daddies, Grandparents and Guardians.  The opportunity to speak to another adult!! - and a chance to have a cup of tea or coffee.
  • to provide a group activity each week such as dance/music, art/crafts.

During the summer we try to organise a picnic on the Dairyground Green and at Christmas time we organise a Christmas Party.

The group is run on a voluntary basis and that means everyone tries to lend a hand in keeping things running smoothly.  Clearly it is not always possible for those with very young babies to take an active role by themselves.  You may feel able to share a task with another group member or when you feel confident.

The group is non-profit making.  A weekly fee of £2.50 is charged for the hire of the hall, heating, activity materials and coffee/tea expenses. Lunch and drink (for the children!) is included in the price.

For the adults we try to arrange the occasional social event such as cinema, local pub, theatre, etc.  These have been popular as they provide a chance to relax and an opportunity to get to know one another.

We hope you will enjoy coming along to our friendly and outgoing group.  We look forward to meeting you and your children.
